Rice can be considered as staple in a south Indian meal. Usually a south Indian meal consists of rice and sambar (curry).On special occasions or when there is company a four course meal can be served.

    5  Garlic the best remedy Take 3-4 garlic flakes first thing in the morning with water.
    6  Clove is good for asthma sufferers Boil 4-5 cloves in 3-4 tablespoon of water. Take 1 tablespoon with honey 3 times a day.
    7  Best remedy for asthma patients Take fresh ginger juice, pomegranate juice, and honey in equal amounts; and take 1 tablespoon twice daily.
    8  Try figs for asthma Figs (anjeer) are very good to remove phlegm (balgam) just like garlic. Soak 3-4 figs overnight and eat them first thing in the morning and also drink the water in which they were soaked. Do this for minimum of 2 months.
    9  Avoid milk products Avoid milk and milk products, ice-creams, sour citrus fruits, cold foods. Take plenty of fruits and vegetables, specially one rich in fibre. Avoid rice at dinner, and take early dinner. 1 tablespoon of honey with warm water before going to bed relaxes the throat and relieves it from phlegm.
    10  Rose water for acne Clean face with rose water 2-3 times a day.
    11  Cure for acne Orange peel is very good for treating acne. Grind the peel, and then add water to it to make a paste, and then apply it on affected parts.
    12  Facial scars Mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice in 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon powder and applies frequently on affected areas.
    13  Garlic for acne problem Apply garlic flakes on the face a few times a day.
    14  Neem helps your skin Grind neem leaves with water make a paste and apply it on the face.
    15  Sandalwood and turmeric powder for acne cure Make a paste of ½ teaspoon each of sandalwood and turmeric powder in water and then apply on the affected areas.
    16  Cure for backache Rub ginger paste on the backache to get relief.
    17  Garlic high blood pressure Have 1-2 pod garlic(lasan) first thing in the morning with water.
    18  Honey and Ginger high blood pressure Mix 1 table spoon and 1 table spoon ginger(adrak) juice, 1 table spoon of crushed cumin seeds(jeera), and have it twice daily.
    19  Brown rice for high blood pressure Having brown rice is very good for high blood pressurer sufferers. Rice is low in sodium content and low cholestrol.
    20  High blood pressure Coconut water, butter milk, and coriander juice(dhania) is very beneficial for person suffering from high blood pressure
    21  Fruits for cure of high blood pressure Fruits like orange, plum, watermelon, and peech are very good to lower higher blood pressure.
    22  Vitamin C is good to cure Cold Vitamic C is very good to keep Cold away. Having 1 lemon daily is very good for Cold. Mix the juice of lemon in 250 ml of water (warm water) and add a tea spoon of honey to it adds sweetness to it. Take it at bedtime.
    23  Ginger for cold Ginger tea is very good to cure cold. Prepration of tea: cut ginger into small pieces and boil it with water, boil it a few times and then add sugar to sweeten and milk to taste, and drink it hot.
    24  Blocked nose For blocked nose or to relieve congestion, take a table spoon of crushed carom seeds(ajwain) and tie it in a cloth and inhale it.
    25  Sour throat Add a tea spoon of cumin seeds(jeera) and a a few small pieces of dry ginger to a galss of boiling water. Simmer it for a few minutes, then let it cool. Drink it twice daily. This will cure cold as well as sour throat.
    26  Migraine For the cure of migraine or acute cold in the head; boil a tablespoon of pepper powder, and a pinch of turmeric in a cup of milk, and have it daily for a few couple of days.
    27  Honey and lemon Take a hot glass of water with 1 teaspoon of honey and juice of half a lemon first thing in the morning.
    28  Dates and prunes helps a lot Eat 7-8 prunes everyday. Soak 6-8 dates over-night. Churn in the mixer in the morning and drink it first thing in the morning.
    29  Walk and control diet Walking and controlled diet is very essential because it controls the sugar level.
    30  Diabetes and grape fruit Grape fruit is very good diet for diabetic patient. Have 3 fruits 3 times a day.
    31  Bitter gourd is good 3-4 tablespoons juice of bitter gourd (karela) taken every morning on an empty stomach is very good.

  • A tablespoon of amla juice mixed with a cup of fresh bitter gourd(karela) juice and taken daily for 2 months reduces blood sugar.
  • 32  Curry leaves and basil leaves Eating 10 fresh fully grown curry leaves(methi pata) every morning for 3 months is known to prevent diabetes. Chew 8-10 basil (tulsi) leaves in the morning.
    33  Ear Ache Heat 2 tablespoons of mustard oil, add 1/2 teaspoon caron seed(ajwain) and one flake crushed garlic. Boil till they turn red. When cooled down then filter and use it as ear drops
    34  Neem juice for ear ache Take some neem leaves, extract the juice of the neem leaves and use it as ear drops.
    35  Lime juice for ear ache Mia a few drops of lime juice along with 1 teaspoon of lukewarm water. Then use it as as ear drops.
    36  Nutmeg paste for Eczema Take nutmeg(jaiphal) powder and add a little water to make paste of it; then apply it on affected parts.
    37  Eczema Take 1 tablespoon camphor(kapoor) add one tablespoon sandalwood paste and apply it on affected areas.

  • Turmeric and neem leaves:
    Make a paste of turmeric(haldi) and neem leaves in ginglelly oil(til ka tel) and apply on affected areas.
  • 38  Eyes aching Make powder of liquorice(multani) and cumin(jeera) in equal quantities. Take 1/4 teaspoon every day along with 1 teaspoon honey for a month
    39  Burning eyes Mash 1 ripe banana along with a little curd and water, and have it twice daily. This can be taken for burning feet as well.

  • Grind one onion and add a tablespoon of black pepper and poppy seeds, soak it in 1/2 cup of milk. Make a paste of it and apply the paste on the head. Allow the paste to dry for 15-20 minutes, then wash with warm water.
  • 40  Dark circles Take 1 tablespoon tomato juice, 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric(haldi) powder and a little gram flour(besan). Add all these things together and make a paste of it and apply it, leave for 10 minutes and wash off.

  • Take cucumber(kheera) slices and put it on the eyes, do this on regular basis.
  • 41  Tired eyes Add a drop of lavendar oil to 500 ml of water and mix the solution. Soak cotton wool pads in the liquid, squeeze excess water and place it over eyes.
    42  Weak eyesight Mix seeds of cardamom(chotti illaichi) along with 1 tablespoon honey. Eat it everyday.
    43  Gas Problem Mix 1/4 teaspoon dry ginger powder(soondh) with a pinch of asafoetida(hing) and a pinch of black salt in warm water and drink it.
    44  Dry cough Add a gram of turmeric (haldi) powder to a teaspoon of honey for curing dry cough. Also chew a cardamom for a long time.
    45  Cold Mix a gram of dalchini powder with a teaspoon of honey to cure cold. Prepare a cup of tea to which you should add ginger, clove, bay leaf and black pepper. This should be consumed twice a day. Reduce the intake as the cold disappears.
    46  Hiccups Take a warm slice of lemon and sprinkle salt, sugar and black pepper on it. The lemon should be eaten until the hiccups stop
    47  Toothache Chew a clove or dip a piece of cotton wool in clove oil and place on the aching tooth for best results.
    48  Itching Apply neem oil to the affected area. Or make a fresh paste of some neem leaves and apply externally. Boil neem leaves in the hot water used for your bath. Also eat a teaspoon of neem juice along with sugar for quick relief.
    49  Injury cure by Turmeric For any cut or wound, apply turmeric powder to the injured portion to stop the bleeding. It also works as an antiseptic. You can tie a bandage after applying haldi.
    50  Bodyache Boil some tulsi leaves in one cup of water until the syrup is reduced to half a cup. After cooling, add salt to the liquid decoction. Take this mixture daily to stop body ache. Alternatively take half a gram of dalchini powder with one-teaspoon honey at least twice a day for best results.
    51  Physical weakness In order to reduce weakness and increase blood circulation, make a dry fruit milkshake made out of ten dry grapes, five dates and two dry figs along with a glass of milk. Have it once or twice a day to feel fresh and energetic.
    52  Cure for diabetes The best remedy for this disease is the bitter gourd (karela). Eat this vegetable as often as you can or have at least one tablespoon of karela juice daily to reduce blood sugar levels. Besides, take ten tulsi leaves, ten neem leaves and ten belpatras with a glass of water early morning on an empty stomach. It will work wonders in keeping your sugar levels under control.
    53  Insomnia Crush about 10 almonds and mix this powder in your milk and drink it warm just before hitting the pillow. Even plain warm milk is known to induce a good night’s rest. You could also apply pure cow’s ghee to the soles of your feet just before bedtime. Or mix coconut oil with water and apply on your head, palms and soles before going to bed. It ensures good sleep.
    54  Cramps You must do a self-massage using mustard oil every morning. Just take a little oil between your palms and rub it all over your body. Then take a shower. This is especially beneficial during winter. You could also mix a little mustard powder with water to make a paste and apply this on your palms and soles of your feet.
    55  Sunstroke The best remedy for sunstroke is a little juice of raw mango along with salt and sugar. Have this twice or thrice a day. You could also apply onion slices on your head and forehead as this has a cooling effect. Drink lot of fluids.
    56  Headache If you have a regular migraine problem, include five almonds along with hot milk in your daily diet. You could also have a gram of black pepper along with honey or milk, twice or thrice a day. Make an almond paste by rubbing wet almonds against a stone. This can be applied to forehead.
    57  Neem to cure headache Neem powder applied gently on the forehead is known to make you feel good. Or a wet cloth bandage dipped in water with a few drops of eau-de-cologne is also known to be very effective.
    58  Chronic back problem If you have a chronic back problem, keep yourself warm and eat hot items. Include garlic in your daily diet. A self-massage with eucalyptus oil is known to be beneficial. You could also use mustard oil with some boiled fennel seeds. You could take a mixture of five black pepper corns, five cloves and one-gram dry ginger powder in your tea at least twice a day.
    59  Ajwain to cure asthama Always avoid cold and sour things in your diet. Boil a teaspoon of Bishop’s weed seeds (ajwain) in a cup of water. Add a little salt to this decoction and take it at least once a day for quick relief.
    60  Nose bleeding If it is a chronic problem, a daily intake of gulkand is extremely beneficial. Or make a murabba out of amla and have it every morning. For immediate relief, apply a bandage dipped in ice water on your forehead and nose.
    61  Cumming seeds for flatulence Cumming seeds helps to cure flatulence and colic pain. After heavy meals and to children after feed it can be given to prevent intestinal colic. Take 1 litre water add 1-teaspoon cumin seeds and boil it. This water has to be consumed the same day it should not be used the next day.
    62  Garlic good for Cold/Blood pressure Garlic is an anti viral and anti bacterial. Raw garlic helps to reduce the nasal congestion and as well as to help to relieve other symptoms of cold.

  • Garlic is also very good for high blood pressure and to lower the cholesterol levels.

  • It is also use to treating cramps and muscular spasm.

  • It can be taken directly 3-4 flakes first thing in the morning with water or with milk.
  • 63  Nutmeg for digestion It helps in digestion and relieves nausea, vomiting, flatulence and diarrhoea. Nutmeg should be powdered and mixed with honey and can be taken during diarrhoea. It can be given to small children also. 1 teaspoon twice or thrice can be taken.
    64  Sour throat Fresh or dry turmeric can be used for saline gargles to relieve and prevent sore throats.
    65  Turmeric for arthritis Turmeric can be used in treating arthritis due to its anti-inflammatory property. Turmeric can be taken as a drink other than adding to dishes to help prevent all problems. Use one teaspoon of turmeric powder per cup of warm milk every day. It is also used as a paste for local action.

    68  Ginger juice Ginger juice helps to clear the blocked nose and stimulate the liver to remove toxins from the blood stream. Ginger juice is made with a teaspoon of freshly squeezed juice of ginger and lime and a teaspoon of honey in hot water
    69  Ginger for digestion Ginger juice helps in the digestion since it contains a compound similar to the digestive enzymes found in our digestive tract, which may help to digest a heavy, protein-rich meal more easily. Ginger juice is made with a teaspoon of freshly squeezed juice of ginger and lime and a teaspoon of honey in hot water
    70  Ginger juice for upset stomach Pure ginger juice is very good for stomach upsets nausea, heartburn, abdominal cramps, and motion sickness. It also helps in keeping cholesterol levels under control.
    71  Fenugreek seeds Fenugreek seeds relieves constipation; may be because the seeds contain a gum which when mixed with water expands in the gut and adds bulk to the stool.
    72  Honey for Obesity One spoon of fresh honey mixed with the juice of half a lemon in a glass of lukewarm water taken first thing in the morning is very effective for constipation, hyperacidity, and obesity.
    73  Honey is good antiseptic Honey is useful for the skin diseases. It can be applied externally for wounds, sores, and burns.
    74  Face pack Honey, turmeric, and gram flour is very good face pack. It can be applied for 15 - 20 minutes and washed off with water.
    75  Honey for Stomach problems The nutmeg should be powdered and mixed with honey and can be taken during diarrhoea. It can be given to small children also.1 teaspoon twice or thrice can be taken.

  • 76  Sour throat Apply mulathi (liquorice) paste around the throat for relief

    79  Obesity Boil a cup full of water. After it becomes lukewarm then mix it with lemon juice squeezed from a fresh half lemon and two spoons of pure honey. This should be taken every morning on empty stomach for about 2/3 months. This not only "melts" the body fat but also is a natural cure for many of the stomach ailments. Note : While this combination of lemon juice and honey mixed with lukewarm water is a sure remedy for reducing fat, only lemon juice actually increases fat.

    Special for excessively fat people

    Take only one sumptuous meal (lunch time only) a day. The meal should contain green vegetables. Do not drink water during or immediately after the lunch. Water should be taken after about one hour of the meal. Tea, Coffee and sweets should be avoided.

    Some people like me cannot do without water after the meals. In this case it is suggested that only HOT water should be sipped. Sipping HOT water after meals reduces fat and is also helpful in cure of gas, constipation, worms, swelling of the intestines and regulation of monthly periods of women.
    80  Acne & Pimples Extract juice of one lemon and mix with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on the face and let it stay for about half an hour. Wash the face with fresh water. About 15 days application should provide the cure.

    Another method is to massage the face with the skin of lemon before washing with lukewarm water.
    81  Dry Skin In Summer Apply Pulp of Tomato / or Tomato Juice on your face. It will prevent dryness.
